 ANNUAL TRAVEL SHOW

FRIDAY, MARCH 23, 2012

On Friday, March 23, 2012, Breakaway Tours will hold their Annual Travel Show at The New Englander Hall and Banquet Center, 3009 Wilmington Road, New Castle, PA. The vendors who attended in 2011 gave us very positive feedback, as shown below. The show is from 11:00 AM. to 6:30 PM. Attendance in 2011 reached 850 travelers, including approximately 20 group leaders, although the show is primarily intended for the traveling public. This year, once again, we are actively pursuing group leaders and encouraging them to sell this as part of a day trip to our area. Breakaway Tours does extensive advertising for this show, including a direct mail of 9,000 (included with the annual Breakaway brochure), print ads in 3 local newspapers, and one magazine, flyers on our bus trips, 300 spots on various cable TV stations, display on the office marquee, and corrugated plastic signs throughout the community. Our local radio station has agreed to be a corporate sponsor for 2012 and will be promoting the show on the radio. Admission to the show is $2 to benefit the Cancer Society and will include light refreshments and displays by various attractions, some items for sale and a large Chinese auction to benefit the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. You may donate a basket for this if you wish, but it isn't required. Also on tap are raffles, prizes, giveaways, and presentations. Based on the positive feedback we are still receiving, we anticipate the event this year to exceed previous attendance and hope you can be a part of it. We are asking for the small fee of $125.00 to help defray expenses. Each participant will be provided with an eight foot table and two chairs. The hall doesn't provide skirting and we know a lot of exhibitors have their own skirting and promotional table covers so skirting is not included in the fee. There are a limited amount of 6 foot tables available, so if your skirting is tailored for this, let us know. For an additional $20., fee the hall will provide skirting, but we MUST have prior notification. If Breakaway Tours has a trip booked with your venue, we will supply you with flyers for your table containing the trip information.  Additional info will be provided closer to the show.  Here are some Frequently Asked Questions.

Comments from 2011 Vendors:

Marcy from Disney Destinations says

“Disney Destinations was thrilled to be a part of the Breakaway Tours Travel Show!  Many guests shared their excitement with me about their upcoming Walt Disney World or Disney Cruise Line vacation. Everyone loved hearing about the latest offers and newest attractions.  Thanks for including us!”

Charlie from Royal Caribbean says

“Totally impressed, a phenomenal turnout and I closed on business!”

Gwen from Carnival Cruises says

“The Breakaway Tours Travel show was so professionally orchestrated, & offered a wide array of travel options to the guests who wasted no time discussing & planning their travel! And we all appreciate that a non-profit, the American Cancer Society, benefits each year as well.  Hope to see you at the show!”

Carissa from Country Inn in Lancaster, PA says

“What a fantastic outcome!  The doors opened right at noon and the room was full with people for 4 hours straight. The crowd was very responsive and took their time speaking to each and every vendor. I will certainly attend this show again next year.”

Jim from Playhouse Square in Cleveland says

“I was very impressed with the 2011 Breakaway Tours Travel Show.  The hall was packed with attendees all day long, and they were there to learn about our venue and to pick up information, not just for the freebies.  The event was in a great location right on a very busy highway, yet it was quite easy to load in and out with free parking.  The Breakaway Tours staff was very friendly and helpful.  I’m looking forward to participating in the 2012 show.

Allyson from Stark County says

“On behalf of the Canton/Stark County CVB and Pro Football hall of Fame, we felt that this show was well worth the investment.  We really appreciated the nice mix of both leisure and group tour contacts as both of these markets are vital to us.  The show had a professional setting, was well organized and very well attended.  We would recommend it highly and plan to attend next year.”
